Discovering Peruvian Flavors in the Growing Arizona Scene

RELATED VIDEO: West Valley Foodies, Have You Tried Peruvian Yet?   Okay, so have you ever tried something new and thought, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?” That’s exactly how I felt after visiting Inca Fusion Peruvian Restaurant in Avondale for the first time. The West Valley is booming, and with all the new spots popping up, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something completely different for lunch. A quick Google search led me to Inca Fusion, and after reading all the glowing reviews, I just had to check it out. I’m so glad I did. When I walked in, I met Luis, the owner, who’s super passionate about what he does. He started telling me about the history of Peruvian food and how it’s this amazing mix of Oriental and South American flavors. You could just feel his love for his craft. He even let me sample their Maracuyá (a refreshing drink he called “iced tea”) and some Peruvian corn. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I ended up ordering their rice with garlic butter and veggies, which reminded me of hibachi rice but had its own special twist. And let me tell you, it was incredible. Every bite tasted like it was made with so much care. Luis explained that they make all their sauces from scratch, which is probably why everything tasted so authentic. What made the experience even better was Luis himself. You could see how much pride he takes in his food and how he genuinely cares about his customers. I watched as other people came in, and they all got the same warm welcome. It’s rare to find that kind of personal touch these days. Luis also told me there are only two other Peruvian restaurants in Arizona, and they’re both in the East Valley. So, I’m thrilled he decided to bring this incredible cuisine to the West Valley. It’s definitely a gem worth checking out. If you’re ever in the mood to try something new, I can’t recommend Inca Fusion enough.
